Program Overview

The program works well for students who enjoy learning and are bright but:

  • are intellectually/creatively gifted and need a faster pace and more depth
  • are focused on a career path
  • have a demanding outside school schedule
  • don't enjoy the social environment
  • are ones who emerged early and want extensive college prep

The program does NOT work well for students who:

  • require a great deal of structure and adult direction
  • want a quick check-off list for graduation requirements
  • need credit recovery
  • require remediation
  • want to avoid work
  • are successful and enjoy the structure of the regular school program

Transcript and Diploma

Universal High School Program graduates receive an official St. Vrain Valley School District transcript and diploma. It should be noted, however, that the UHS transcript looks different from a regular SVVSD transcript and includes a description of the program and specific highlights of the student's independently designed coursework.

UHS graduates have been accepted to a variety of in-state and out-of-state public and private colleges and universities.
